How Did I Miss November???

How did I miss blogging the whole month of November? Well, I can't truly answer that. All I remember school, turkey and cheesecake. But the great thing is I have plenty to write and share with you guys. I made a few shirts and jewelry and I will be doing a series of Christmas nails. So don't worry here I come with new things.

Halloween Themed Nails

Not spooky by any means, but a simple acrylic nail design. I used my own mixture of glitter and acrylic colored powder.

 Apple Cider Donuts

Ingredients
For the donuts:
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup of apple sauce
  • 3 1/2 cups flour and don’t forget some for board
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • For the topping:

Toppings
  • Glaze - 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk
  • Cinnamon Sugar - 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon
For frying:
  • Vegetable oil or shortening
Instructions
  1. Add the apple cider and apple sauce together
  2. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. In the bowl of a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat together the butter and sugar until slightly and creamy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Reduce the speed to low and add the apple mix and buttermilk, stirring just until combined.
  4. Stir in the flour mixture just until the dough comes together.
  5. Take parchment paper and sprinkle with flour.(handy to put parchment paper on a cookie sheet)
  6. Place the dough on parchment paper and flatten it out with your hands to about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Transfer the dough to the freezer for no less than 20 minutes.
  8. Use a donut cutter to cut donuts and place them on another cookie sheet. Re-roll until all dough is used. Place the cut donuts in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  9. Add enough oil or shortening to a deep pan for frying. Heat oil to 350 degrees.     (Have a paper towel to drain them on.)
  10. Add donuts to hot oil, make sure not to crowd the pan, and fry until golden brown, its about 60 seconds per side. Drain on the paper towel and then dip in the glaze or powdered sugar.
Serve immediately or reheat.

Made these ones rectangle and used a glaze, these ones went faster than the first batch.

Top Plus Size Stores on the Web

Im going to be writing a review on some plus size clothing websites and ranking them by cost factor. When looking for sites, I look for versatility, affordability, and product availability. I really wanted to find sites outside of Torrid, which is a great store, just wanted a new site. I found a few stores that I wouldnt mind shopping from, even one that is a little out of my shopping range but had great clothes that pushed the boundaries.

FashiontoFigure.com $$

That is a pretty good website and pretty good looking clothes. Their clothes range from size 12 to 26, which is pretty good range. Prices for dresses range from $20 to $50, Bottoms $15 to $50 and denim $20 t $40. Which I personally think is a pretty good price range, especially for plus size. The site does use a plus size model, well size 12 plus size. But hey Im not complaining because they could have used a size 2 model to model the clothes.

Simplybe.com $$$

Simplybe.com,now this is a great site! A little high, but love these clothes! So many exclamation marks but the clothes make me smile. Simplybe markets that they have fashion to fit your shape, which I agree they have. They even have a mens section which is awesome. The clothes sizes are from 10 to 28, which again is great! There I go again, but go look at the site. I totally cant wait to shop there, like I said the shop is high and Im in college. Prices range from $40 and up.  I always need dressy clothes and need things that can last. But Ill wait until my weight balances back out.

Swakdesigns.com $$$

Another high end really good PS store. What I love about this store is that they use real curvy and real plus size women. I feel their being real with me, which is hard to find. Their sizes range from 14 to 36, which to find clothes up to 36 that are stylish and trendy are hard to find, and Swak nailed it. Swak prices from $40 and up also. But I would ignore the price range for stylish clothes when I need to. But this is another site Ill wait to order from just because Ive been in the gym a lot lately trying to get back under a size 20.

It was really hard to find new low cost PS clothes, but I found a few. The ones Ive found were either limited, cheap fabric and hard to get excited about.

  1. PacificPlex.com
  2. eVogues.com
  3. 1015store.com
  4. 599fashion.com
  5. Modaxpressonline.com (claimed to have plus size but couldnt find on site)

One Year With No Red Meat

Sure pork should be ok, but why bother. When I was in college I used to go without it all the time. And I lost ton of weight and felt great about myself. So here I am at the age of 26 and I’m ready to embark on that journey again.

So I’m about to go 365 day of no red meat of any kind, no bacon, pork chops, steak, or sausage. I know I can do it. So because I’m not eating red meat, I will be getting my protein from chicken, fish, and beans. And I’m also cutting way back on the sugar, in college I didn’t partake in sugar like I am now. I blame having way more money and the convenience of it being here and there.

So here’s to a healthier me and to being able to have one stomach again!

The pictures where from two years ago when I decided to lose weight and I dropped 25 pounds. And most went from my stomach

Foundation Routine

My Foundation Routine

***This is a routine I used to use all the time, but I've switched up some steps. I will upload that one later. But enjoy this routine which caused me great happiness.

Hey everybody, I'm going to show my everyday five minute foundation routine. Its five easy steps for less than five minutes. Because of my job schedule and school I need something fast and easy. So here is way of doing it, enjoy!

So step one is to get a great face moisturizer that works for your face. I use a Wal-Greens brand. It works great on my face and keeps it soft. But what you want to do is let the mos soak in your face for a minutes or thirty seconds.

But also make sure you start with a clean face, so your makeup looks flawless

Step two is face primer. I use Rimmel Prime and Perfect 001. I also have 002 which is white but 001 has a hue to it. Either one will work.

Step three is FOUNDATION

I use Maybelline Dream Liquid mousse. I absolutely love it and everything about it. It's not heavy and doesn't clog my skin.  But I add it in 5 to 6 small spots, like in a cross. I then take my Real Techniques Brush and blend it in

Step four is to hold and Conceal, the Concealer.
I use Covergirl Basic Concealer. It's okay, I'm ready for a new one. It was great for starting off, but as I get further into makeup. But I recommend it to anyone who just starting off. But I dab like three spots under my eye or any problem areas.

Step five is the powder

I used FIT Me by Maybelline. I just started using this product and I really like it. But all I do is sweep it across my face until I'm satisfied.
